________The Oriental Coin Box_________ This is the ideal item for the busy children's entertainer, as it is very easy to reset, a job only taking a few seconds. There is nothing to go mechanically wrong with the apparatus. It can also be used for adults. . EFFECT The performer shows the audience a 12 inch oriental style cabinet which has two doors, he opens the doors one by one to show that the cabinet is empty. Next the performer introduces a 4 inch SILVER coloured coin of oriental design, which he places into one side of the cabinet and closes the door. He then explains that he/she will make the coin disappear, and tips the cabinet to one side where a loud thud is heard. The performer then claims that the coin has vanished and to prove it, opens one of the doors, and shows that section of the cabinet to be empty. However the audience are not impressed and demand to see the other side of the cabinet. So the performer closes the door and once again tips the cabinet, where another loud thud is heard, and opens the opposite door to show that the coin is not in there either. The above procedure is repeated several times until the audience demand that the performer opens both doors at the same time, this the performer does and it can be seen that the coin has really gone. The doors are once again closed and the performer explains that although the coin has vanished, it can still be heard rolling about inside the cabinet this is demonstrated as the performer tips the cabinet from side to side. The coin will now reappear says the performer, both doors are then opened to show that the coin has reappeared, but the coin that was once SILVER is now a GOLD coloured one.
